Our Team

Valerie grew up in Edmonton, Alberta with one foot in the Christian Reformed world, and one in the Plymouth Brethren. She took at one-year discipleship training program at Mt Carmel Bible School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of Alberta.

In 1999 she moved to Calgary, met and married Trevor and together they have three children.  Valerie has worked in Agriculture, Social Services and the Corporate World. She took 13 years “off” to “stay at home” with kids and happily volunteer wherever possible.

In 2014, after an unsuccessful attempt to move to Brisbane, Australia the Frey family arrived in the Surrey area and have been attending Hope Community Church since 2016. Valerie has recently returned to school taking master’s courses at Regent College in Theological studies. She is passionate about discipleship, and supporting vibrant communities centered on the Biblical Story seeking to positively impact the world.
