Our Team

Born and raised in Langley, Matteya grew up in the Christian Reformed Church alongside her six siblings and her parents, Deb and Joel. In 2022, she became a member of Hope.

After graduating from Langley Christian, she studied for a year at Trinity Western University before completing a Discipleship Training School with YWAM Kona. That experience took her to Hawaii for three months, followed by three months of outreach in Colombia, Brazil, and Peru. This fall, she is excited to begin a program in the hair industry.

Through her internship, Matteya desires to grow in her personal relationship with the Lord, explore new ways to serve the church, and engage the surrounding community with the hope of sharing Christ’s light with those who do not yet know Him. She will also continue to serve as a Jr. Youth leader for the Grade 5 girls of Hope Community.

In her free time, Matteya enjoys being outdoors in the sun, traveling with her family, and spending time with her nieces, nephews, and her family’s police dog, Rogue.
